Above are photos of Ralph Hutchinson's Best of Class winning entry in the Novice category at this year's Hamilton Wood Show. Nutmeg Woodworking sponsored the Best of Class award and Ralph was kind enough to send us in the photos along with this letter:
"Thank you very much for your support of the "Best of Class" in January 2010. I consider this much more important than winning a 'First' ribbon (which is also nice). Thank you, Ralph E. Hutchinson"
Congratulations Ralph! Thanks for sending in the photos and we hope you continue to send us more photos of your work.

Elliot Deighton's Latest Work
Posted on January 22, 2010
Elliot's latest carving is a gift to his son and a reminder of a special fishing trip they had together. Elliot certainly has a love of carving and for fishing and he has mastered the art of bringing them both together. It is certainly special when one can do that and it shows.
We at Nutmeg continue to be so proud of the work that Elliot does and we thank him each and every time for sharing it with us.

First Time Woodburner And Also A Prize Winner
Posted on January 19, 2010
Shown above is budding young artist Meagan Ryan and her very first woodburning! As you can see, her first woodburning of a chipmunk turned out wonderful and we hope she continues to have fun and be creative with the great pastime and art form that is woodburning.
The little artist also won the door prize during our winter open house in December. Congratulations Meagan and we can't wait to see more of your work!

Here is a beautiful coat rack chip carved by Rita DeGraauw. Her father carved the original piece that gave Rita the inspiration to create one herself. I think her father would be proud, I know we are.

Thompson's Powertex Sculptures
Posted on October 9, 2009
The pictures are examples of what an artist like Brigette Thompson can do when she explores her creative side and has a deadline to work to. Brigette lives in the Sudbury area and had a very successful showing of her work last weekend. Brigette and Moe Thompson also, ran a Powertex class showing how to create your very own garden sculptures. Bridge and Moe will be here at Nutmeg Carving Shop on November 21st and 22nd of this year showing how you can create your own sculpture.
Great job and thanks for sharing your work with us and our readers. We all look forward to your classes.
See you soon from the gang at Nutmeg Wood Working and Carving Shop.
