Jan Oegema
Jan came to Canada in 1950 from the Netherlands. He started chipcarving on his own in 1972 on and off. In 1989, he got involved with the Bowmanville Wood Chips Club, and there was no looking back.
Jan is a member of the National Wood Carvers Association, as well as the Ontario WCA, Bowmanville Wood Chips, Northumberland WCA, Brooklin WCC and Quinte WCA

Hi my name is Michael, I started woodburning when I was in school when my grade 12 art teacher challenged me to try woodburning. After I graduated, I got a job but still continue to woodburn for a hobby and I don't think I'm going to stop, it's so cool to just imprint an image on wood.
We're incredibly proud of Michael and the wonderful work he has done and can't wait to see more.

Carvings for Sale by Elliot Deighton
Elliot Deighton is an artist that has been busy carving up a storm and now running out of room, he is willing to sell some of his work. At the last show held by the Ontario Wood Carvers Association, he won a number of awards in his category - as you can see in the photos - and has been featured on our website a number of times.
We at Nutmeg are very proud of the work Elliot has done and are honoured that he has allowed us to have him as the first artist in this section of our web site that will feature other guest artists' carvings for sale.
His small Santa carvings are $25 each, the small elf heads are also $25.00 and the larger ones are $45. His caricature carvings are selling for $125. Commissioned pieces can be arranged by request and the price will be determined in the course.
